    It's just showing short sales i.e. when somebody has sold the stock short. It doesn't cover when the shorters re-buy the stock to close their position.

    it will show when the % of shorts declines. some aussie trading platforms show which brokers are buying and selling so you could work it out live from that data as it is transacted

    Took the plunge and sold a parcel of FPH yesterday when it rose, and bought some ATM at $11.30 with my freed up capital ... hopefully not a bad decision

    So out of interest (since I'm trying to get my head around this shorting business) what sort of margin do shelters have between their sells and buys? Is it a cent or two or do they drive bigger gaps?

    Standard retail is 1c spread, its higher when liquidity is low or if large order.
