The way the NZ market is working right now, I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow is actually the big day (in terms of sp increase). I think the Sinopharm news is causing a lot if today's price movement. With PEB it took a day or two for word to spread and then the sp took off even more.

You do need to wonder how much higher this could go before too much 'potential' is priced in, but the same suggestions were made about PEB, XRO etc and look where they ended up!

I expect to be lambasted for this, but I have observed that the release of good news frequently initiates a sharp drop in the SP.

You could be on to something there, Nigel. That ODT story wasn't exactly nothing.

Another noob question, not having done/needed to do one of these before - how does one set up a stop loss on ASB Sec?

When you go to set an order for buy or sell there are two other options on the pulldown, one is a trigger buy and the other a stoploss.

Go to the buy sell screen and choose stop loss. Set the point you want it triggered at, then the amount you are willing to sell down to. Ie. with a SP at 3c, you may set it to be triggered at 2.8 and sell all the way down to 2.5. If there insufficent buys between 2.8 and 2.5, then your order will only be partically complete.
