Hey emearg - see Brian worked on a story after I prompted him

Marked Price Sensitive so must be super positive

IscBrian learning — need regular stories to prop the share price up. We all know numbers don’t really matter - just tell stories.

    Sales model revised in Australia

    Sales model revised in Australia

Post the Covid-19 outbreak, we have noted the ongoing impact on retail pharmacy foot traffic and the trend towards greater online purchase of dietary supplements.

To date our business model in Australia has been primarily focused on the pharmacy retail channel through a distribution relationship with iNova Pharmaceuticals (iNova), without a strong presence online to drive e-commerce sales. Blis Technologies Limited (Blis) and iNova have mutually agreed that the existing distribution relationship will be wound up allowing Blis to pursue an integrated channel strategy for Australia.

Brian Watson said “we have been closely working with iNova in Australia since the launch of BLIS PROBIOTICS™ branded products in March 2019. Over this time iNova have supported the brand with active promotion and sales force support establishing a strong presence in retail pharmacy. Blis will look to continue to build the presence of the BLIS PROBIOTICS™ brand in pharmacy but with a new partner and build a complementary D2C e-commerce selling platform to align with the recent strong trend towards this channel.”

iNova also had an option on distribution rights of BLIS PROBIOTICS™ products in other countries across the Asia Pacific and Africa regions, these options have not been progressed to date and will also be relinquished.

In line with our strategic emphasis on D2C e-commerce sales opportunities, Blis will progress plans to build a stronger online presence in the Australia market for the BLIS PROBIOTICS™ branded range and coordinate this with the brand’s presence in retail pharmacy. To support this retail activity we are in negotiations with a new partner strongly aligned with natural healthcare that brings complementary strengths to support the brand’s presence in the market. iNova will continue to provide support for the retail pharmacy channel through to 30 June 2021 to allow for a smooth transition to a new partner.

    Ends
In other words inova not interested in continuing to market Blis products in Oz or asia

Yes I see this as them starting again in Aus. Sales must have been bad under iNova.

Maybe 1 step back in the short term for 2 steps forward in the long term?

Hey nevchev - is that announcement code for iNova hasn't done a good job so we've dispensed with their services and we'll give somebody else a go and hope like hell they can do a better job

You could look at it that way to give the impression Blis in control but we may never know one way or tother

Gaining traction in the Aussie market looks like it's been hard work for years - nobody seems to have made much of a go of it. The initial sell-in via iNova seemed to kick-off OK but there was probably little or no marketing grunt behind it to develop any momentum.

I don't imagine retailers are super happy to stock products when the manufacturer is marketing D2C in competition with them - that may be a problem in NZ too. But maybe the online stuff helps create presence for the brand and as long as online is not undercutting them on price they are Ok with it.

I wonder how the Canadian launch went and if there are similar issues over there?

Have to wait till the May EOFY results announcement for some answers - meanwhile Mr Market doesn't appear too bothered about today's news.

Winner will be happy Brian is reading his posts - but maybe two news releases in one day is overdoing things a bit - lol.

A market with a population of 1.4 bn is very interesting - however, Blis isn't exactly flying in the Chinese market which has around the same number of heads.

Still, there's plenty of potential to tap - no worries (to quote Winner).

India's middle and upper class enjoy first world health care. That's hundreds of millions of people. If Blis' distributor can convince enough pharmacies to begin stocking it, initial orders on their own would be massive.
