Have a read of this weeks column:

A reader's sympathy with burnt investors is mixed with a great deal of bewilderment

Although I do feel sorry for people who have lost their life savings via finance companies, Blue Chip apartments and/or dodgy financial advisers, I also feel all the notes of caution out there over the years about these kind of "investments" were ignored by these people. Why?

Not only are the risks ignored, but when they actually occur it is expected that the Government (aka Taxpayer) will step up and relieve effected individuals of their woes.
