Best Way To Sell United Kingdom Shares

I have holdings in two UK investment funds which I wish to realise

To sell through my NZ broker seems to be a drawn out process and also expensive

Presumably I could opt to sell via a UK Broker ???
Is this possible ?
If so does anybody know of a reliable UK broker, preferably one that has acted satisfactorily for them ?

Any help will be most appreciated

I have had an account with Lloyds-TSB for many years
and although I havent traded shares through it they
should provide a safe transaction service.
(Until recently they owned NZ National Bank)
