Up re 18% today to 13c. 50 and 20 mill shares thru last two days big vol spike.

Heres some history courtesy of flamingdudeofdoom. Like it that Hythane is still a part of EDE.

People new to this stock seem to be unaware of the true vision of EDE, Eden energy was incorporated in 2004 by Tasman Resources after Greg Solomon attended a seminar in which Hythane (HCNG) was being discussed. Greg liked the idea so much TAS purchased it and branched EDE off, the developers of Hythane (Frank Lynch and Roger Marmaro) then moved to Eden running Hythane in Colorado.

HCNG (Hythane) a mixture of Methane and a small amount of Hydrogen is aimed primarily at large bus and truck fleets dramatically reducing CO2 and NOX emissions which is ideal in countries like India where although converting their millions of public buses to CNG in 1991 had the undesired effect of increasing NOX emissions (oxides of Nitrogen or photochemical smog) which claim 500,000 lives a year due to respiratory issues.
To produce the Hydrogen for the HCNG, EDE used to own Hyradix reformers which used high temperature steam to separate the H2 from Methane gas (CH4). This then caused the carbon to join with the O2 forming CO and CO2, both undesirable in the production of a low emission fuel, also the H2 was still also costly to make, making the HCNG a costly "premium" fuel. So although there are improvements in performance and reductions in overall emissions without issues like Hydrogen embrittlement, the cost and the emissions in the production was a stumbling block.
Eden began working with the University of Queensland to try and convert the Carbon into a "solid state" so it could be easier disposed of. BAM, hey presto their byproduct accidently formed into Carbon nanotubes (CNT) then only a short time later there was the realisation that CNT are worth coin and the H2 then became the byproduct. All good cause theoretically CNT have 1000,000 and 1 uses, however there were none around to sell tons of CNT to off set H2 production and make HCNG cheaper. Now comes the story of Edencrete500, Eden had to develop their own product that they could use tons of CNT, they tried rubber (replacing carbonblack with CNT), they are STILL working on plastics and the beloved cement. The Van Walls effect (clumping due to the CNT carrying a charge) always came back to bite, that then overcome by using a surfactant (the two methods that can be used a surfactants or sonic dispersal), the shelf life then took 12months to fix. Trial and error, GFC's and cr's now here we are.
Note at the end of this there is no mention of Hythane being gone, it is and always has been the main game, yes Edencrete500 is a game changer but it also serves to make HCNG affordable. There are plenty of companies working on making cars greener but few working on making dirty trucks and buses green and we're talking Euro IV standards as well as being CARB ( California air resources board) accredited, even OptiBlend are tuned to run HCNG and will then displace upto 80% of the diesel.

What a run, this stock is certainly in favour at the moment. Will add to holding if the opportunity presents itself but it's been fun watching it skyrocket so far.

Seems to have fallen out of favour this week.
