Is the area you are looking at buying in “Deprived”?

Each Census a measure is made of the socio – economic deprivation in each area of NZ. A score of “10 = very deprived (like Eketahuna) or 1 = Pretty Well Off (like Westmoreland).
If you are looking at buying the Deprivation Index gives you an idea of the wealth or otherwise of your neighbours – as at 2006. If you are interested in schooling the higher the number the more cash the Ministry of Ed will hand out – the lower the number the more parents have to do to fundraise.
