Default Queues @ beginning of trading day

Hi there - real newbie question - how are prices are calculated at the opening of trading when there are buyers lined up at over-inflated Buy prices and sellers queued up with prices that are clearly low (such as in Rio or AOE today)?

What is showing on your screen at present is not what will be showing when the market opens, there is a match up process, & many of the anomalies you see will be withdrawn.

Those who place "market value" bids largely cause this for two reasons:

    1. The buyers want to jump to the front of the que (perhaps in anticipation of news?), & are happy to pay more.

    2. Buyers with low ball bids trying to trigger stop losses

The same applies in reverse for sell orders!
