Default What is Sime Darby Group.SIME.not sure on what exchange it is (Indonesian?)?

Just got a letter from Porsche, pushing their lattest toys. Noticed the Sime Darby Group logo at the bottom. Appears they own lots of business in NZ. Maybe it is one of the Sultan of Brunei's investment vehicles?

Sime Darby are a Malaysian conglomerate cut from a similar cloth to the tradional "colonial" trading companies - like some of the more famous Hong Kong "hongs". Started as a plantation company and diversifed over time. Amongst various businesses as you have discovered they have widespread motor distribution interests. I personally have a fondness of the history of these sorts of organisations and have kept tabs on this one over the years although have never owned any shares.

They have a fairly famililar line up of businesses in the traditional mold of colonial conglomerates - their original business (plantations), property, utilities, distribution businesses (Heavy manchinary, motor vehicles) amongst others.
