3. How vulnerable is it to machines from potential competitors (and that includes foreign Govts.) who have much deeper pockets and a R&D base?
4. Where will it be made?
5. Will regulators allow civilians to own and fly them at will, or will it be considered too much of a hazard and only for military applications?
6. Will potential military buyers (e.g. the US military) require the company to enter into restricted sales contracts, i.e., the company can only sell Jetpacs to a limited number of countries without US Dept of Defence approval?
7. Expressions of interest are all very well, and are certainly very encouraging, but they are a long way from firm orders. Just what are realistic sales numbers and over what time frame?
8. How many units does the company need to sell before it recovers its R&D costs to date, and how many does it need to sell before it starts to turn a profit?
9. What advantages does it offer over a helicopter? I can't imagine search and rescue winching a person to safety with one of these.
I remember when Skydoos were first mooted 1/ For snow and 2/ for water, I thought to myself wheres the market?, the rest is history !!!

Just because something sounds sounds like an odd idea is no reason to take it seriously

My arguments are no poorer than your judgement. it was a post done in jest as some with a few clues can see. I've nothing personal in this. I've no idea who Mr Martin is and I suspect he and his family would be quite insulted to suggest he has a girlfriend or indeed had the time to steal one. If you followed this thread you'd already know he spends most of his time pottering in his back shed.
But onto more serious matters. This offering looks more and more like a technology offering. Not in the Jetpack, (which should we need reminding has been described as a "widowmaker") but in the parachute deployment and 10m fall restraint technology. Its the latter that might get me excited.

On the other hand others of us might observe that it is a very astute post. I tend towards the latter.
For those with a copy of todays Press you'll see a jetpack soaring to new heights. If you care to scroll back to Nevls post # 687 on 6 June 2011 you'll see its the very same photo.
Good luck to those who put their money into a company who can't even be bothered putting an updated photo out with their press release.

Im guessing this is the same guy who was on fox and friends a few years back with his jetpack and it only got around half a foot off the ground and looked grotesque.
