After a few years boycotting the AA's roadside assistance program I signed up with VTNZ's new program the other day. Six months cover though with only 1 call out cost $20. Was $39 for a year with 3 call outs. Good value I thought.
Signing up was very easy and hassle free. Could be a good little sideline for them.
Not really - very little for sale - tiny volumes.
Should be a good cashflow business - unless the govt changes the wof rules.
I can't believe they had to shut the Whangarei branch. Maybe the cops don't worry about wofs up there.
There's plenty of competition in the Whangarei/Northland region - apart from independent operators, VTNZ alone has two in Whangarei and another 3 or 4 around the area.
I was going to try and buy some of these (assuming someone would sell them, which is a big if). I even signed up for a Direct Broking account as ASB does not trade unlisted shares.
"Mr Brownlee wants to make sure the 5.5 million warrant inspections a year which cost car owners around 250 million in inspection fees, are justified."
So much for that cash cow...
Revenue down 50%? Maybe down only ~30%? Not sure, but not great to have on the horizon if you own VINZ.
Though I do agree switching to a 12/24 month renewal (depending on vehicle age).
