Default Which party is willing to set New Zealanders free?

I promise to vote for any party the removes four barriers restricting freedom in New Zealand (or the party that comes closest to it), and adopts the following four policies:

    - legalize euthanasia
    - legalize assisted suicide providing the assistant is a doctor
    - legalize marijuana for both medical and recreational use
    - legalize same sex marriage

Which party is willing to stand up and remove four ridiculous laws that only serve to restrict freedom in New Zealand?

    The first two fine.
    The next one ,half.
The last one, who gives a toss? But isn't it here already?

Same sex couples are tremendously concerned with the last one. Just give them some peace. And besides, if "nobody gives a toss", then there shouldn't be a problem doing that.

Karlos I have a brother in an aged care facility and he would be better off in jail than where he is. In my opinion. I would sooner be dead than live in the conditions some of these people do. So you would not have upset my investment plans. Of the Ryman Villages & there location I have seen I would not invest them. Beautiful outlooks but no freedom. No facilities or shopping within walking distance except their captive stores and amenities. No Choice I was just trying to point out that the SUN does not shine out RYMAN'S rear end as some posters do.

rpcas, wasn't the law changed a few years ago by Helen Clark' Government to allow same sex marriages ? I recall seeing an article on Minister Chris Carter and his partner getting married ! Or did I misunderstand this ?

Nope, its not marriage, its Civil Union.

And to the OP - how do your 4 law changes make NZ a better place?

People wishing to be euthenased make up a very small part of the NZ population.
If a person wants to commit suicide they can do so already. Take responsibility for your own life and don't drag someone else into your issues.
If you are smart enough to smoke dope, you're smart enough not to get caught.
    You already have civil unions.

You're not by any chance a dope smoking homo, who was once depressed tried killing yourself only to end up a tetraplegic.

Doing those things should be the least of our concerns.

Talk about playing the fiddle while Rome burns.

For the record i strongly disagree with 1 and 2, am ambivalent/moderately against 3, and 4 is pretty much irrelevant as we already have civil unions and de-facto relationship laws.

No doctor aware of his ethical responsibilities would participate in assisted suicide. Hypocrites made the very strong point centuries ago - do no harm.

I give a toss. I don't care what sort of deal they enter or contract they have; but surely they could think of a name other than marriage.

What's the effective difference between civil union and marriage (particularly if it's done by a non religious celebrant)?

    Nothing.

So what's the beef? Why bother? Waste of space and time.

What's the average length of a homosexual relationship? Rather short.

What happens if there is a medical/scientific breakthrough enabling gays to become normal?

What's the incidence of exclusively homosexuals? 2% for women and 4% for men (The Economist in an article a couple of years ago).

    So why all the fuss?

Evidence or cite of short relationship claim?

Chris Carter and the ex Dean of Dunedin.
All the scribbled graffiti in isolated mens lavatories.
