I have only met Oiler once at an Auckland sharetrader meeting a few years ago and he was only too willing to share his knowledge and experience as others have said.
Sorry to hear he has passed away, will be missed here on ST.
Condolences to his family

That is incredible sad news, he will be sadly missed on many levels.
I was particularly touched by his inclusive manor, always first to organise get togethers, a perfect host.
Rest in peace Oiler...

I'm sorry to read this news, I met him at a Wellington sharetrader meeting a few years ago, and remember him as a friendly generous guy.
RIP Graeme

I was lucky enough to have met Graeme a number of times on his trips down to Christchurch for the ST meetings over the last few years. He really was the inspiration for me to get stuck into oil and gas stocks, something I probably wouldn't have done if it wasn't for his excitement and passion he showed for them.
I guess in a way I looked to Oiler as a mentor, he was probably sick of my messages asking what he thought on this stock or his opinion on that announcement, but he never showed it only ever spending his spare time helping me grow in knowledge whether he knew it or not.
You will be missed by us all.
Rest in Peace Oiler....

Thanks for letting us know Andrew. A very good man who will be sorely missed on both personal and professional levels. I, like many of you, viewed Graeme as an impressive person, hugely generous and with feet firmly on the ground. Thoughts are with you Graeme, and your friends and family.

Goodness Me.
Here I am for my first stint of the season up on the Fire Lookout at Nelson riding the gale force South-Westerlies.
Oiler was always at me to get down from my lofty perch and get to the meetings in Chch.
Can't believe he is no longer with us and my thoughts go out to family and this forum members who held him in such esteem
