Default SUR ..... Sun Resources ..... junior oiler .....

    Hi folks,

SUR has not done much since being "mugged-by-Muggles",
but in their latest announcement, they are now headed for
Libya ..... another old oil province, that has been
    "rediscovered" in recent months .....

Just a few notes about the Libyan oilpatch:

Even through the period, when America bombed Tripoli and Benghazi
in 1986, American oil and service companies were operating alongside
their Canadian counterparts throughout the Libyan desert.

One ASX-listed company in Libya, since the mid-1970s was our
    local driller OD&E, who had 2 rigs (#7 & #9) operating there,
until Canadian drilling company, Ensign (?) bought out ODE 's
worldwide operations, some 18 months ago (?) ... those 2 rigs
are still operating there after 30 years ... in fact, OD&E had no
choice it was either work for Gadaffi or abandon the rigs.

So, while the official attitude may have changed towards Libya,
work at ground level will grind on at the same pace, as it does
in all muslim oil-producing countries ..... very slowly .....

SUR seems to have made a smart move in getting involved
with a coalition for their entry into Libya, as their partners'
experience and influence may make the red-tape that comes
with working in Libya, a little easier to handle.

Could be some interesting times ahead, but don't expect
too much too soon, as it could easily end up, just like CUE
    in Indonesia .....

In summary, US and Canadian companies will have a decided
advantage, on any new ground that may be opened up in
    Libya.

So any Aussie company will have to either tag along, by way
of farm-in or have very deep pockets to absorb the high
costs of any drilling campaign in the Libyan desert.

How is it that abundant oil is only found in these god-forsaken
    raghead countries ..... ? lol

Indonesia, Iraq, Malaysia, Saudi, Libya, Mauritania, Iran and
on and on it goes .....

..... good luck to those holding SUR.

    happy trading all

SUR gapped-up on news today, with good supporting
    volume ..... looking OK .....

May need to gap-up again, over resistance
    expected at about 25 cents.

AA the Strachan report you posted earlier valued success at approx 30 cents, so if you massage the quantities/assumptions then 50 cents is also achievable.

Personally I like SUR, in respect of Eagle (low risk) and have bought a few recently. Unlike FAR, SUR has not been bumped up by Eagle speculation, and yet SUR has greater leverage to success than FAR. Yep, I sure like these stocks that arnt the flavour of the month. (unloved)

We should know flow rates of eagle by end of week.

I'v had a look at SUR and decided to
switch horses today - off VPE and onto SUR

If you read between the lines from the
FAR released an update yesterday, it is obvious that they are very confident of success at Eagle
ie, they had concidered drilling the horozontal well before even testing the verticle hole
The only reason that they are flow testing the verticle hole is to gather more data on thr feild.

Have also increased my exposure to Flour Bluff by getting into SUR

    disc. hold FAR and SUR

Now - back to the laughing gas

I am also more heavily weighted in SUR.

Flour Bluff supposedly underpins the price.

    Hopefully the Eagle will soar.

And Malta has reached a greater stage than FAR's Senegal hasn't it?

Does anyone know what ccs means?
    In the context of:

"On opening the well bore to commence unloading of fuilds some 400ccs of crude oil that had percolated up from the target zone was collected from the well." (this is from last announcement)

I've searched and found nothing that I can understand... Can anyone enlighten me?

    TIA
