    Default Terminator Dark Fate

Big Arnie promised us he'd be back and he finally is !!!!
Anyone else eagerly anticipating this ? This one by legendary director James Cameron who is also back.
Here's the longest trailer I could find. Bring on 31 October. "I'll also be back"
But first a catch up for anyone living under a rock since 1984 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5Gmgmwg4M8

Arnie and Linda Hamilton are looking very good for their age.

    Came out last week here.

Whilst much better than the last two it still does not compare with the original or T2 and sort of equals T3.

They should have stopped at T3.

T2 one of the greatest action movies of all time in my opinion. Agree T3 was a good effort too. Special effects in T2 that would still be considered first class and cutting edge for 2019 but was first released in 1991, 28 years ago !
Agreed it will be a very tough ask to beat that but 128 minutes of fresh Terminator action is something I'm really looking forward too.
I can't help wondering how many people don't even realise there was a TV series as well called the Sarah Conner chronicals https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0851851/
Not a bad show, I watched them all of course.

pretty excited myself about this one too. Just hope they have not made it too "woke".

I hear you just need to ignore all the terminators post 1 and 2 and that this one follows on from the legendary T2 of 1991. Should be a goodie.

Thanks for alerting me to the link Beagle.

Correct mate. I watched T2 the other day again just for the heck of it. Here's another teaser I found, enjoy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxEqLkhUVyU

Cheers, introduced the Mrs to T2 about a year ago. She was skeptical before watching, pretty impressed after watching. So hopefully this is going to be a good one.

    Thanks for the link.

On a same page as you with this. T2 had cutting edge special effects and really serious horsepower and will undoubtedly remain a cult classic. T3 also a good movie.
Terminator dark fate is worth a look and a good solid movie, (not as good as T3 and considerably behind T2 in my opinion), but I think the terminator franchise has run its course now.

Thanks Beagle, at least I will not go in with high expectations. If you say it is not as good as T3 then it cannot be that good. I thought T3 was a bit disappointing but loved T2 and off course T1.

James Cameron does well to incorporate Arnie as a part of the action, given his age and he looks good for his age and he takes the character into a new direction with a more human type character, (heck, he even has a pet dog) I thought dog's didn't like Terminators ? but he used to be the main star and Cameron is working with the age limitation of Arnie in his 70's and Linda Hamilton in her 60's.
Hamilton makes a good fist of things and to a large extent carries the lineage of the franchise.
My rating 7/10 but the audience likes it and last time I looked it was scoring 91 / 100 on rotten tomatoes for audience approval so maybe I just expected too much ?
Lack of interesting side characters like Dr Silberman https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIHW22sGxGg and the new characters weren't really developed enough.
Didn't really resonate with me, maybe its just Big Arnie getting old and being sidelined to some extent ?
Let me know what you think mate.
