To whom and why did you have to pay this "setup fee"?

This would only be if imposed by your bank. I'm pretty sure ASB pinged me with the last example of this. No charge yet for the Gentrack direct debit but they might still surprise me with it at the end of the month.

Hmm - my bank (ANZ) never charges me for direct debits. if yours does, than it might be time for you to review the account or to change the bank ;

The share offer funds for came out of the account on the 20th and the fee was on the 23rd, unsure who actually received the $5.00 fee, Kiwibank or Linkmarketservices. I do not know as to why I was charged the fee, there was nothing on the form that mentioned a fee was applicable.

It for sure wasn't linkmarketservices charging you $5 for executing a direct debit. I guess - it's only 5 bucks - but still - if it would be me I would ask the bank what the fee was for. Banks make mistakes as well - and if not, than at least it helps you to better understand the fee structure of your account.

Instead of going through their website you can just scan and email the form to applications@linkmarketservices.co.nz They won't charge any extra fees and it's processed very quickly. That's what I did fairly late in the afternoon last week and the money was taken the same day.

Think $5 setup charge could be if you tick option to save Payee for any future payments

That, at least, is free with ASB.

Do we know how soon we are transferred our shares? No doubt it's on the paperwork, but I'm sure someone here has their finger on the pulse!
So only 68% of the entitlement shares were taken up? I thought it was a great offer...
