    Terribly boring stock this.

Did not even comment on it in 2018.

But new year, new resolution so:

One of the few shares that I have not sold down or out of completely in the last few months.

Will be back on thread in 2020

ARV not far off all time high again ...this time it’ll break through and head towards what Forbar reckon it’s worth

    That’s good

Hi All, what are your thoughts on ARV's development margin of around 16%? It seems very low in comparison to their peers.

Welcome to the forum. My thoughts. Dovetails in quite nicely with their underlying eps growth of just 17% which is also very low in comparison with their peers.
That said the market clearly likes their care based business model...my hope is that one day in the future the market will wake up and realise that OCA, (which is trading on significantly more compelling metrics) is also primarily a care based business.

A bit odd considering they go ex div on Monday, CGT fears?, they weren't using Arrow construction? Couldn't resist buying more at that price

On a capital basis, OCA down 7.1% in the past 6 months, meanwhile ARV only down 5.2%... and it only looks worse for OCA when you look at dividends paid.

No worries, both about go up bigly... FXL style.

Don't think oca is going up fast any time soon. It's just too complicated to really pin down with any certainty due to its large current reconstruction component. I suspect your ARV team TJ are experiencing the same thing. I haven't spent any time trying to understand ARV since it's report last year though. Plus Very big brother SUM is having its time in the sun soaking up investor favour. (And rightly so)But it was only a month ago it too was in the dog box under six bucks.

"...end of February, 293 ORA sales had settled"... I note ORA's settled as at half year was 165 so for 5 months another nearly 130 ORA's were settled ... they say the first half was going to be much bigger than the 2nd half for ARV (and that the 3rd quarter last year was 'something that won't be repeated') but so far it looks like momentum has pretty much continued and it will be a bigly (entire) year... Huge margin in the 3rd quarter (quite the contrast to what happened at OCA)... then again, its much more fun to talk about OCA than this dog

Not a dog. Has done okay since listing in line with NZX50. How many new units are forecast for delivery in FY20 ?
