I keep expecting a "normal' occasional down season for apple production but it hasn't happened for freaken years! Drought, storm, hail ,low sunlight, high rain will get us sometime.
Royal Gala (created in nz) the most popular apple in USA this year. 52 million boxes produced in USA
2nd most pop fruit in nz (after banana), 17,600 tonnes sold here of royal gala. Braeburn no 2 9.000 tonnes, pacific rose no 3
Royal gala our biggest export
China grows the most apples 46% of below tonnage
84.6 million tonnes world wide production
this little nugget sounds juicy: In line with our growth strategy, Scales’ continues to make positive progress on a number of our initiatives, some of which may be agreed in the near term.
Thought of selling @ $5.00 but want to wait to see what they do with the $$$$$ from the Polarcold sale. Still waiting, I read a Feb deadline is in place & perhaps that deadline will be tested.
mentioned quite a while back that scales was looking at getting into petfood and they have now confirmed the move
SCALES CORPORATION ACQUIRES 60% OF US PETFOOD INGREDIENTS MANUFACTURER SHELBY JV LLC FOR US$23.2M

take time to see if they can replace the earnings from the cold store division guess thats why the share price has been falling to reflect the loss of that division and no replacement for the earnings yet
