And today’s vote by Refining NZ shareholders also provides a nice tailwind for Zel’s shareholders. Nice timing and probably the reason why BOD negotiating hard with potential suitors.
If there are two suitors it certainly becomes a bidding war and may result in good price for shareholders. Time will what that price may be. Next week will be very interesting..

A long sunset for this industry but the degree to which it has been hastened by EV subsidies of up to $8,625 per vehicle should not be underestimated in my opinion.
Have to agree, it can't be Ampol. Will never get it by the commerce comm. IPO of Gull would take too long.
Maybe it's just rumour.

Like bottomfeeder said earlier, it would never get past the C/C.
My sources tell me Exxon M will bail from the South Pacific region in due course.

It is a win win even the c/c is not going to pass it. Look at IFT....super fund put an offer ...they knew that c/c won't approved it but the market has the confidence back to thier share....now IFT is trading at $7.60
Zel valued at $2.5b according to the paper ...that equal to $5 per share

Past 2 years SP History:
14.8.19: $ 6.82
16.1.20 $ 4.20 (immediately prior to Covid)
23.3.20 $ 2.64 (at the bottom the Covid Dip)
7.8.20 $ 2.79
11.12.20 $ 3.38
6.8.21 $ 3.05
23.0 cps forecast dividend forward - didn't they suggest ?
(and add imputation credits on top - last Div paid 2 Jun 21 was fully imputed)
more value in this one even with the Green / Electric initiatives ?
which aint going to happen fast or overnight
especially when we have a Govt which is still struggling and going backwards on
even it's very first scorecard (housing).. having to pluck excuses out of the hat
on who to blame next for their own stupidity & incompetence .. with any luck may
see them & any Green influences emptied out as early as next election ..
With that, more realistic policies on minerals & oil/gas may come back ..
