The US has zero appetite for a real war. It is a paper Tiger.

We know that because of the Ukraine situation.

6 months from now, the US & West would have forgotten about the Ukrainians - the appetite to support Ukraine is already waning.

Having egged Ukraine on, the US will sit back and watch the Ukrainians get pulverised back to the Stone Age.

That’s what war mongering nations controlled by vested interests (arm industry) do.
Well, US was not a paper tiger during WW2 - haven't they?

China never won a proper war against any other major international player, though Chinese tribes always used to occupy and kill other Chinese tribes.

    Thats the facts ...

    All their tech is copied.

PLA leadership is appointed based on politics.. Xi would appoint his family if he could.
US appointments are still based on merit and competence.

LOL - Trump was elected on merit & competence obviously. Likewise, all the officials he appointed and fired in quick succession.

And Ivanka Trump (with her plastic boobs) was appointed because of her ?

Best laugh I have had this week - thanks! 🤣🤣🤣

    WW2 was 82 years ago.

Afghanistan (as usual US left with its tail between its legs like in Vietnam, Iraq and Syria) was a year ago.

Remember how they abandoned the Kurds to their fate? Threw them to the mercy & slaughter by the Turks.

US is a proven paper Tiger.

Stop taking your cue or instructions from the US weapons and arms lobby groups, BP - they are only interested in war mongering to sell their weapons of death and destruction.

The deputy head of Taiwan defence ministry’s research and development unit has been found dead in hotel in Pingtung, southern Taiwan, according to the official Central News Agency.

Ou Yang Li-hsing, deputy head of the military-owned National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology, was 57. The cause of his death is unknown, CNA reported.

Ou Yang, who was in charge various missile production projects, had been on a business trip to Pingtung.
The military-owned body is working to more than double its yearly missile production capacity to close to 500 this year, as the island boosts its combat power amid what it sees as China’s growing military threat, according to Reuters.

You should try whether some other part of your extremities is better suitable for thinking ... your blind hate against the US is clearly blocking your thinking process.

But hey - lets look at your examples and see whether we can learn from them, shall we?

Afghanistan: The US attacked Afghanistan and got themselves a bloody nose. After twenty years or so they understood that the cost of the ongoing occupation is not worth it and they did a runner. Agree, the withdrawal process looked neither heroic nor very elegant, but this is what happens if somebody attacks a country which does not want to be occupied. Interesting story: The same thing happened to the Russians in Afghanistan (1979 to 1989). The fact that the Russians survived only one decade in Afghanistan (vs 2 decades for the Americans) shows that they are either the greater cowards, or more clever. Given however that Russia is just repeating their Afghan experience in the Ukraine would I doubt it was their cleverness which made them pull in their tail in Afghanistan after only a decade. Red Army is clearly hopeless ... and these are the people who taught the Chinese.

Same in Irak, Vietnam and Syria ... US was always the agressor and - as we can learn from history - the agressor always looses in the long run. No lesson about the quality of the US army, just a reminder that according to warfare 101 you need 7 times the forces of the defender to occupy and hold any territory. Bloody expensive game.

That's the message - attackers loose (in the long run), even if they have a well equipped and well trained army unless they are happy and prepared to carry long term (for the whole occupation time) huge cost for attack and occupation.

Your examples are relevant for a Red Chinese attack on Taiwan.

Red China would be the attacker - and, as history teaches us, the attacker does lose over short or long.

Thanks for providing the examples to make this case.

I find this upsetting. It's almost as if Europe doesn't understand we're in a climate emergency. Why Doesn't Europe just put on an extra jumper, so to speak?

Europe's new love affair with coal puts us all at risk, me especially because I have a coastal property. Better stock up on sandbags when I get back, if my house isn't already under water by then

I'll be able to think of nothing else on the long plane ride home.
