I wouldn't have put it that way myself, but you have a point, National's Minister of Health Jonathan Coleman came in for some of the most vicious criticism for the severe underfunding of the health system for the 9 years National were in govt. Left huge problems for the incoming coalition govt.
The Health system is massive, bigger than the dairy industry & you can't fix a system like that overnight & then along came the pandemic.
There are obviously huge discrepancies in the standards of care & health services available in different areas of the country & Labours Health reforms will be attempting to fix this.
They've also made the largest increase ever in funding for PHARMAC allowing patients to access some amazing treatments & drugs which were unfunded under National.
