I don't see very many people forking out for all of the kit required to get Starlink when it is launched. Why bother when the vast majority already have great fibre?
There might be some a handful of farmers who live in particularly rugged terrain who go for it, but other than that I think Starlink will be a flop in NZ.
It might have had a chance if Sky satellite dishes could be upgraded to send and receive signals from their low orbit satellites...since the infrastructure is largely already there, and bundles could be offered...
But, alas, that is not possible. I contacted DishTV (they sell the same satellite dishes that Sky use)...and a chap from support told me that their Satellites are the "wrong shape' to detect signals from low orbit satellites like Starlink. Also Starlink use a dish ("Dishy") that is more like a phased array antenna and does not need a LNB like the Sky satellite dish.
No. No it is not. Spark Sport is a trading name of Spark New Zealand Trading Ltd.
The point of reserving 'like' company names is to stop some random from hijacking your brand. I haven't checked but wouldn't be surprised if domain names for all of these are also owned by the company.
